Pop Art! A Commission..

Yesterday’s wild weather day was the perfect day to snuggle up in the studio, label and pack these colourful beauties which are off to Auckland art gallery today.. ⚡️

These are another commission from the gallery this time focused on American pop art, specifically the works of Alma Thomas and Morris Louis. 🎨

I had a fantastic time working up the designs for these soaps.. it really pushed me out of my usual wheelhouse colour wise, as for years I’ve avoided brighter colours in deference to “natural” colourants which are normally more muted…. But working with stripes and bright colours could hardly fail to be a good time! 🌈

These will be available in the art gallery store for the duration of the exhibition which opens next month and runs through to March 2026.
